Community Program

Connecting Families, Centre & Community Together

At Nurtured Education & Care, community is part of how children feel safe, supported, and connected. Our Community Program brings families, educators, children, local services, and the wider neighbourhood together. Through family partnerships, local excursions, community visitors, cultural sharing, and everyday support, children begin to see that they belong to something bigger than the centre. It takes a village to raise children. We are proud to be part of yours.

Why Community Matters

We're Here To Support Your Whole Family

Raising children really does take a village.

We know parents are balancing work, home, routines, family needs, and everything in between. That is why our Community Program is designed to support more than your child's learning. It is also here to support your family's world.

Children thrive when they feel connected to their families, educators, peers, and neighbourhood. We build those connections intentionally through open communication, shared experiences, local partnerships, and practical support.

Our goal is to help every child feel known, valued, and part of a warm community.

Our Community Approach

Three Relationships We Prioritise

Our community approach is built around three key relationships that support children's wellbeing and development.

01

Family Partnership

We respect your family's values, routines, culture, goals, and parenting preferences.

From your first enquiry, we work to build strong partnerships with families so you feel involved in your child's learning and development. We encourage open and honest conversations, regular updates, and shared decision-making where possible.

What happens at home matters. We want that to be reflected in your child's care.

02

Local Community Engagement

Gladesville is part of our classroom.

We connect children with local places, community centres, libraries, parks, nature reserves, galleries, cultural venues, local schools, and businesses so they can learn from the world around them.

These experiences help children build confidence, curiosity, independence, and a stronger sense of belonging.

03

Cultural Respect & Inclusion

We celebrate the diversity of our families through stories, celebrations, language, traditions, food, music, and shared cultural experiences.

Children learn that every family has a story. Every background has value. Every culture can be respected and celebrated.

This helps children grow with kindness, curiosity, and respect for others.

Out In The Community

Learning Beyond Our Walls

Children regularly explore the local area through thoughtfully planned excursions and community outings. These may include visits to:

Libraries

Children discover books, stories, early literacy experiences, and quiet community spaces.

Every outing is risk-assessed, carefully supervised, and clearly communicated with families. Child safety is always a priority.

Visitors, Stories & Shared Expertise

Community also comes into the centre. We invite community members and families into Nurtured Education & Care so children can meet people with different skills, stories, cultures, and experiences. This may include:

local artists, musicians, and performers;
cultural representatives sharing stories, language, and traditions;
emergency services and health professionals;
seniors through intergenerational programs; and
parents and family members sharing their skills, jobs, and cultures.

These visits give children a richer and more human picture of the world around them. They learn that everyone has something valuable to share.

Building Relationships, Not Just Enrollments

We keep families connected and involved through genuine, ongoing communication. This may include:

regular events, from family fun days to cultural celebrations and workshops;
multiple communication channels, including app updates, meetings, newsletters, and notice boards; and
practical support and referrals to local services when families need extra help.

We want families to feel included, not just updated. A childcare centre should feel like a place where you can ask questions, share concerns, celebrate milestones, and feel supported through the busy early years.

what parents say about their experience with us

Families often tell us they value the sense of connection at Nurtured Education & Care. They appreciate the regular updates, open conversations, community events, and the way their children feel known by the educators around them. Children notice it too. They talk about visitors. They remember excursions. They recognise local places. They share stories about family events and community moments. These experiences help children feel grounded, confident, and connected.
