Our program is designed and delivered by qualified teachers and educators, with guidance from children's voices, family input, educator observations, and community connections. This helps us create learning experiences that feel meaningful, inclusive, and connected to each child's needs.

Curriculum decision-making at Nurtured Education & Care is not done behind closed doors.
We listen. We observe. We document. We reflect.
Our educators use parent input, children's interests, educator knowledge, and community experiences to plan learning that supports each child's growth. This means the curriculum is responsive, thoughtful, and connected to real life.
Families are not left guessing either. Children's learning is documented in the centre and through an online platform, giving families clear access to what is happening throughout their child's day and learning program.
How We Plan for Each Child
Our curriculum is guided by each child's needs, strengths, culture, interests, and stage of development. Educators observe children during play, routines, group learning, outdoor exploration, creative experiences, and social interactions. These observations help us understand what each child is curious about, what skills they are building, and where they may need more support. From there, our team creates learning experiences that support:
Cognitive Development
Children learn to think, question, problem-solve, remember, sort, compare, create, and make sense of the world around them.
Social and Emotional Development
Through play and relationships, children practise sharing, self-regulation, confidence, communication, empathy, and positive interactions with others.
Physical Development
Children build fine and gross motor skills through movement, outdoor play, drawing, sensory activities, climbing, balancing, building, and hands-on learning.
Communication and Language
Our program supports speech, storytelling, listening, vocabulary, early literacy, conversation, songs, and meaningful everyday language.
Learning Through Play
Play is one of the most important parts of early childhood learning.
Sometimes it can look simple from the outside. But through play, children are building the skills they need for life.
They learn how to solve problems, make decisions, create, communicate, regulate emotions, work with others, and develop a love of learning in a natural and enjoyable way.
Our educators use play to support each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. They observe what children are doing, gently extend their thinking, and create new opportunities based on what children show interest in.
Play is never "just play" here. It is learning in action.
Culture, Language and Belonging
Our curriculum also teaches children about culture, language, identity, and community.
Children are given opportunities to learn about different cultures, family traditions, languages, celebrations, stories, music, food, and ways of life. This helps children build respect for themselves and others.
We also include reconciliation in the early years by teaching children about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through age-appropriate learning experiences.
This may include stories, art, music, language, discussions about Country, respect for land, and learning about Australia's First Nations peoples in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
Our goal is to help children grow with respect, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging.
Supporting Every Child's Individual Needs
Inclusion is part of how we plan.
We support children's individual needs by working closely with families, registered health professionals, educators, and other support networks when needed. This helps us adjust the program so every child can feel included, safe, and supported within the centre.
Some children may need extra support with communication. Others may need help with emotional regulation, sensory needs, routines, behaviour, social skills, or developmental goals.
We work together to make sure each child has access to learning in a way that feels right for them.
Reporting, Reflection and Family Updates
We regularly document children's learning and share updates with families.
This may include observations, learning stories, progress updates, photos, educator reflections, and reports submitted through our online platform. Families can see what their child is learning and how the program is supporting their growth.
We also follow up with meetings where needed, giving families and educators time to reflect, discuss progress, and update goals.
This keeps information current, useful, and connected to the child's real development.
